Ever since it was announced that you were leaving Marvel, I haven't been able to stop talking about all the books you're writing that I absolutely love, all the characters you created and wrote that you made unforgettable and amazing. I look forward to what you have in store for us readers in the future, but I is want to take this opportunity to thank you for all the magic you have given us in your long and incredible career. You are a true legend. Thank you.

My tumbler queue has been filled with hundreds of messages like this and I, in my self-loathing or just being overwhelmed by it all, have not responded publicly as well as I could have.  privately, I am so overwhelmed by the response to the move. I don’t know what I thought the response would be but it is way more, and way more positive, than I could have ever hoped.

it left our world. It left the comics world.  I was at the Lego store yesterday and someone pulled me aside about it. My rabbi wrote me about it :-)

thank you everyone. Thank you.  I am taking all of this genuine positive energy and putting it directly into my final Marvel comics scripts and my first DC work.

It is inspiring. It is a constant reminder of what I’m supposed to be doing and why. Thank you

Elevator Pitch

Kagan reminded me of this the other day. In … 2002? 2003? We were at SDCC, selling our wares. At one point we were in a very crowded elevator with Joe Quesada, then Editor-in-Chief of Marvel. Nobody was speaking, it was just elevator music and crushed bodies. Then, in the weakest voice I could muster, I said, “w-would you look at my portfolio, mr. quesada?” And we all laughed and laughed and laughed and now look at me I’m Joe Quesada’s boss and can fire him whenever I want
